In case you haven't yet realised it yet, you cannot rely on the government or even your private pension to provide for your retirement. At school we were not taught about how to create wealth, how the money markets work, how to leverage your money and maximise your return on investment or even how to manage personal finances... however, on the plus side, I can still recall the names of all of England's monarchs - strangely, that knowledge hasn't made me rich.
It is a fact of modern life that we all now need to take reponsibility for our own financial future. To do so effectively you need to take the time and make the effort to educate yourself as fully as possible. If you do not do so, you will face a very uncertain future.
